Carrefour is celebrating 40 years in Argentina, and that’s no small feat. We saw this as more than just an excuse for a celebration—it was an opportunity to bring a little hope and optimism to people. It felt like the right time to remind ourselves that no matter how big the challenges, Argentinians always find a way forward.

As we looked into it, we discovered that 40 years ago, Carrefour opened its first hypermarket and, in a challenging context, made a bold commitment to freeze prices to stay closer to consumers. At the time, it seemed like a crazy idea—but in this country, that’s just how we are. We’ve got that certain something… you know?
